Nature Drive NDTI is planning to bury the dead tortoises on Wednesday in the sand at the beaches. We will send two of these tortoises to the laboratory for further investigation to find the cause of their death. On first sight it seems to be caused by unhealthy water condition like increased acid levels rather than fishing activities. Whatever the reason for this massive death might be, it is very sad news for animal lovers.

"Thank you captain Manfred. I feel honored by a personal praise that I share with all active NDTI members. You are an inspiration to NDTI. I am proud of the fact that our coastal clean-up has created a wave that spreads to the West coast of our country. I thank you for being the "Indian link" in your network. Our contact is a cornerstone in our expanding network around the globe. As I would like to say to the new generation: Passiveness never made a change for the better. Only activists can make our little planet Earth a better place to live."

Nov 18:
"Today the Day forth of the” International Coastal Clean-Up Week” . Drive was organized at Gopalpur"

bulletNEW Questionnaire Nov 2012 :
Interview Questionnaire

SS: To begin with, please tell us something about yourself.
®
The core members of NDTI are an international group of specialists in their own field like educators, scientists, media people, businessmen and authorities committed to the protection of our globe.

SS: Can you walk us through the events and the set up which led to the inception of Nature Drive?
®
It started with a growing awareness for the gradual pollution and degradation of our planet caused by a multitude of neglected environmental incidents on our local level.

SS: Could you provide a brief outline of your purpose, mission and vision?
®
Our goal is to make our little planet Earth a better place to live. Right now, without delay. We aim to build a new generation of highly committed nature activists, who will secure a healthy and sustainable ecosystem for the future.

SS: What is your primary approach to promoting this concept?
®
We do this by offering programs on – individual and collective – protection, preservation, conservation and management of our Earth ecosystem and its natural resources for environmental sustenance.

SS: Anybody else in the team? Can you tell us something about them?
®
We regard the whole movement of participating students, teachers, workers, housewives and all other volunteers as part of our team. They are dedicated and committed to our mission.

SS: Playing away from your turf always poses challenges, which were the ones faced by you while establishing and conducting your activities?
®
You always start on your own turf caring for the ecosytem and then you realize it is a global matter. The local and global challenge lies in making people see, identify and react on environmental threats. International communication (in time, language and culture and on internet) is another challenge.

SS: While you battled such challenges, what was the motivation that kept you going?
®
We have to keep going as our mission “making Earth a better place to live” is an endless global process. If we care, we cannot stop caring. If we are compassionate and responsible, we cannot abandon our compassion and responsibility either.

SS: Can you provide us a sneak into the activities conducted by you?
®
Most recently we had a series of coastal clean-up events along the coastline of the Gulf of Bengal

SS: How is this idea different from the others?
®
It is the combination of a young generation cleaning-up, attending awareness seminars and having the opportunity to discuss their actions and visions.

SS: Any other interests/hobbies of yours which you would like to share with us?
®
Creating awareness for the fact that “making Earth a better place to live” is based on our equal and constant action to turn human rights, animal rights and nature rights into legal and social justice. If we fail any of these rights we fail in our mission.

SS: Is there any moment, incident, or person that has carved a special place in this journey? Our readers will like to hear about this?
®
A journey to better the world is by definition marked by sad incidents caused by the bad guys and joyful healings and success by the good guys.

SS: Anybody whom you would give credit for supporting (inspiring) you in this mission?
®
Not anybody, but everybody who has intentionally or accidentally helped us from properly removing a cigarette butt to our most inspiring speaker on NDTI events.

SS: Do you have any future road map for your brain child considering the positive response it has garnered?
®
Education, motivation and cooperation are the main “drives” of the new Nature Drive generation. We want to develop those drives offering the opportunity to discuss our issues with renowned environmentalists, ecologists and other specialists in sub-fields of our interest and action. But also with the decision makers we depend on. As pollution crosses borders we intend to team up with international sister organizations to exchange our goals, our knowledge, our results.

SS: Any breakthroughs or achievements which you would like to share?
®

SS: Can we have some quotes from people who have benefitted from this endeavour?
(A)

SS: There are people and organizations which want to serve the cause; can you guide them about ways to join?
®
Yes, we welcome all initiatives for individual or collective participation.

SS: What would be your message for the youngsters reading this?
®
Passiveness never made a change for the better. Only activists can make our little planet Earth a better place to live.
